BOTM 04/25 John J. Bowman - straightbourbon.com
Distillery Tasting Notes A bourbon with “hints of toffee, leather, figs.” My Thoughts John J. Bowman (“JJB”) is a single barrel bourbon from the A. Smith Bowman Distillery in Fredericksburg, Virginia and their most premium regular release. This whiskey is a bit of a hidden gem, at least here in Virginia where it can be more easily found.

My Recent Bardstown Weekend - My Son's First Trip - Distillery Trips ...
We left the Four Roses distillery and circled back west to attend our 2:00 tour at Maker's Mark. I can't remember what road we got off the Parkway but the last seven miles to Maker's Mark was on the tightest and steepest roads I've ever been on. We took our time and really enjoyed the drive. Boy, there is some really pretty country around there.

Who Knows Lawrenceburg's Story? - Straightbourbon.com
Does anyone know the history of the distillery at Lawrenceburg, Indiana, that is now owned by Angostura? I know they bought it from Pernod, which acquired it in the Seagrams break-up. I know it makes both GNS and whiskey, and has aging warehouses. I know its grain is supplied by a nearby silo whi...

Old Boone Distillery - History - Straightbourbon.com
The Olde Boone distillery shut down around 1971 after an explosion and fire caused by a ruptured gas line. I read this in an article somewhere but can't remember exactly where. Whiskyportal.com lists the current owners as Fortune Brands and says that Jim Beam uses the warehouses at the site. I also remember reading about another fire that occurred at Old boone sometime in the 1960's that ...

Peoria's Whiskey History - Straightbourbon.com
The whiskey tax revenue from Peoria's share of taxes paid to the federal government was larger than any other district in the entire United States. Allocated Bourbons becoming more readily available
But can a distillery have any influence over a price gouging retailer when it can only sell its product to a middleman distributor who doesn't give a darn? I understand why things are as they are with the allocated stuff. But why is BT unique with respect to the unavailability of its mainstream producr?
